WHY A HOME GYM ROCKS!
Sure, going to the gym works for you because it fits perfectly into your routine. You like being amongst people and you feel at home there. That is awesome. But if you have been wondering about creating your own facility at home, there are definite benefits involved.
Save your time
Even if there is a gym right around the corner, you still need to get dressed and ready and then take the drive, or jog or walk over there. While this may seem like a great idea to include the walking or jogging part, these activities are more enjoyable when done on a scenic route and as a good exercise on their own.
When your gym is right at home, you can quickly hop into your gear and start exercising. No checking in, no need to feel obligated to engage in the conversation when you intended to spend just a specified amount of time to go and exercise.
Added to this, of course, if the shower in the privacy of your own home.
Work with your routine
Routine is a personal thing, and with busier lives, we tend to have either very strict or widely varying routines. When you exercise right at home, you can decide on the best time and not much can stand in your way. There are no closed times, so busy times and there, you have the gym all to yourself whenever you need it.
Which leads to the next benefit.
Kick interruptions to the curb
Did the Crossfit class pinch the weights you wanted? Is the personal trainer blocking a part of the gym you planned your routine around? Is there a line again? Not at home!
There is so much frustration in getting dressed and ready to go all the way to the gym, only to have to change the routine you had because of these factors. As long as everyone in the family is clear on the rules and routines, there will not be hiccups close to any of these scenarios.
Feel comfortable.
Yes - huff and puff and get red in the face! Do what you are there to do without worrying about anyone seeing the wrong moves, the level of difficulty you are facing, or the mistake you just made. Struggle to figure things out until you get it. Who is watching it anyway? Not the entire gym ;)
